I was just out riding in the rain thinking about FSX. Some questions came to mind, so I thought I'd jot them down in quiz form. A few of them might be kind of easy for some folks; some of them I don't even know the answer to.

1. How many national champions (in any cycling discipline) have ridden FSX?

2. Who are the oldest and youngest riders ever to compete at FSX?

3. Was Army Jay really in the Army?

4. Who rode the very first night of Fifth Street Cross (in 2003)?

5. Did Paul Pearson ever ride FSX?

6. Was Bowman telling me the truth last week when he said that in the past four years he's never missed a race, never been lapped, and never DNFed?

7. Is it true that Bill Elliston came once to FSX, slammed his head on a big log, and never returned?

8. What women other than Selene or X2 have ever won the women's race ?

9. How many people have never been beaten at FSX?

10. Has anyone actually fucked a goat? Are you sure?

11. Has anyone hooked up with more than five FSX racers?

12. Has anyone successfully bunny hopped the final barriers?

17. Who is the fastest slow guy in the history of FSX? And who is the slowest fast guy?

18. Has anyone at least partially ridden into the pond?

I'm sure Bill has the report for accuracy, but I believe it was JK, Bill (riding in jeans and without lights) and me. Yes, I was the first to sip the fine cognac of victory.

And I wouldn't have ever tasted another drop if it wasn't for the fact that most fast people can't stomach the stuff.

I will corroborate that.

It was my last 3rd place finish.

Some guesses. Some I know. This took way took much of my time.

1. How many national champions (in any cycling discipline) have ridden FSX?
8 Liz Reap-Carlson, Lath Carlson, Mike Yozell, Steve Tilford, Bobby Lea, Mary Costelloe, Harlan Price, Rodney Santiago. I think that's it, but wouldn't be surprised to have missed one or two. Until tomorrow when Mark Weir (National champ on the 4-man 24-hour team) shows up.

2. Who are the oldest and youngest riders ever to compete at FSX?
Hmmmm, not sure of the youngest, but between Joey Favara, Gunnar, Kaitlyn and Wes. Oldest: Paul Pearson. I think.

3. Was Army Jay really in the Army?
Yes. Spend 24 hours with someone and you learn quite a bit.

4. Who rode the very first night of Fifth Street Cross (in 2003)?
No one rode in 2003 because FSX didn't start until October 20, 2005. This is our 4th year. I don't have documentation, so I've got to go with Pryor's memory (scary) on that first night's riders. I do know that the second race on the 28th consisted of me, Bill, Ray, Pryor, Chris Neyen, Det. Barker (my brother) and Hoosier Nephew.

5. Did Paul Pearson ever ride FSX?
Yep. For one night only in 2006. He rode his mountain bike, crashed on a pipe and put a hole in his leg. Now he heckles everyone else week after week. Although he did sandbag for the Race For People Who Never Race in 2007.

6. Was Bowman telling me the truth last week when he said that in the past four years he's never missed a race, never been lapped, and never DNFed?
No. He wasn't at the first few races, hence he hasn't been to every one for 4 years. Three years, maybe.

7. Is it true that Bill Elliston came once to FSX, slammed his head on a big log, and never returned?
Yes. Bill showed up on October 19, 2006 and lapped the field...but in the process also clocked his head on a low-hanging tree across the trail and lay stunned on the course for quite some time.

8. What women other than Selene or X2 have ever won the women's race ?
Overall, only myself. I won the women's overall the first year, but mostly because X2 didn't live here yet, Selene got lost every time she rode the course, and Liz wasn't grooving on the dirt.

9. How many people have never been beaten at FSX?
1 Steve Tilford, winning both times he showed up (2007 and 2008). You might've also picked Bill Elliston, but after crushing in Race 1 in 2006, he came in 5th in Race 2.

10. Has anyone actually fucked a goat? Are you sure?
What happens at FSX, stays at FSX.

11. Has anyone hooked up with more than five FSX racers?
Define "hooking up" and I'll have a better answer...but I think I can safely say no. The "not more than" being the very critical phrase there.

12. Has anyone successfully bunny hopped the final barriers?
Nope. Lot of unsuccessful attempts, though. Much to the joy of spectators.

13. Who broke bones on their first visit to FSX?
Spago. Showed up (Nov. 26, 2006) when no one knew who he was or how he got here, rode one lap, took himself and Pryor out on a descent, and disappeared. We saw him at SMC 6 months later and he admitted that he'd broken ribs in the fall. That's why we now have waivers.

14. Who is Mystery Girl?
Lenore Pipes. Called Mystery Girl after she appeared a few weeks ago in the middle of Race 1 with no number and no one knowing who she was, then left before anyone knew any better. Lenore has since signed a waiver, gotten a number and had the Lantern Rouge honor.

15. Has anyone ever filled a pinata with Taco Bell hot sauce, dressed up as Selene, or slept on Tigger's dogbed? If so, was this individual's wife and children present for some part of those nights?
Is that all you've got for this guy? The highlight reel goes on and on. And his most-awesome wife is no stranger to any of the antics.

16. Is there anyone in the field who is riding a $10,000 custom made cross bike specially designed for FSX?
Not anymore. Besides, I think it was only $8,000.

17. Who is the fastest slow guy in the history of FSX? And who is the slowest fast guy?
Bowman. Pearson.

18. Has anyone at least partially ridden into the pond?
Yep. Steak dumped it several years ago in the front pond. And Mary Costello reportedly did the same last year.

19. How many Jamies have ridden FSX?
4 Jamie Bock, Jamie Harris, Jamie Huber, Jaime Livingood

20. Is Robi still drunk?
Robi was never drunk. It would take a lot more than 32 beers.

11. Has anyone hooked up with more than five FSX racers?
Define "hooking up" and I'll have a better answer...but I think I can safely say no. The "not more than" being the very critical phrase there.

Shouldn't the same type of "what happens with FSXers, stay with FSXers" apply here?

I also believe we have reached our quota for Jaime/Jamie's.
